SOCIAL WELFARE DONATION TO PWDs on 15th OCTOBER,2025

Assin Foso Municipal assembly made donations to selected persons with disability (PWD) within the municipality. The director of social welfare and community development Mr. Angus Amoah said the donations was in batches, he made all those present aware that within the municipality, there are 856 registered persons with disabilities and out of that 123 persons with disabilities were being given items that they requested for from the government to help set them up to start a trade or business to be able to sustain their livelihood.

He made them aware that there will be follow up on how well they are using the items donated to them, and its based on that which will determine whether they are to benefit from any future donations. He urged all of them to use it wisely

The MCE (Hon. Gariba Adam Baba) urged beneficiaries to use items wisely and not to gift them out as they requested for those specific items. He equally said that beneficiaries who were given cash shouldn’t go spend the cash but rather use it to work because once they spend it, they will be back to square 1. The MCE also reiterated that there will be follow ups on the use of the things given and when they make the best out of it, it motivates government to even give more. He encouraged them not to look down on themselves for they are just like any other person.
 

He assured them of the continuous  support and and extension of helping hands.  He concluded by saying that his doors are always open to everyone and helping the constituency prosper is his top most priorities.
